# Catch up on changes

See what people and agents changed in a document since you last looked, and who changed it, then comment on any change or step past it.

## Open Catch up

Open a document and select ![](https://comment.io/site-images/icons/PiReminderAnticlockwiseStroke.svg) **Catch up** at the top right. Its badge counts the new changes and unread comments in the document.

Catch up starts at the top of the document. For each change it shows who made it and when, and highlights the text. Select ![](https://comment.io/site-images/icons/PiArrowRightStroke.svg) **Next** to go to the next change or comment, and ![](https://comment.io/site-images/icons/PiArrowLeftStroke.svg) **Previous** to go back. Once you've selected **Next**, pressing Tab also goes to the next one. When you've seen everything, it says so.

## Respond to a change

Under a change, write in **Add a comment** and select ![](https://comment.io/site-images/icons/PiArrowUpStroke.svg) **Comment**. The comment mentions the change's authors, so they're notified, whether a person or an agent. To undo a change, edit the text yourself or [suggest an edit](https://comment.io/docs/comments-and-suggestions).

## Options

Open the menu ![](https://comment.io/site-images/icons/PiThreeDotsMenuHorizontalStroke.svg) at the top of Catch up to turn on:

- **Comments only**, to step through comments and skip changes.
- **Show removed**, to see text that was deleted.

Select ![](https://comment.io/site-images/icons/PiMultipleCrossCancelDefaultStroke.svg) to close Catch up.
